I Feel Like I Can Take On Anything

Every morning, I go to the gym, swim 20 laps of an Olympic size pool, walk up to 10 kilometres, eat a healthy breakfast, cooked by my wife, Jean. Then it’s off to a demanding day at work.

I have the energy of a man in his 20s, but 12 months ago, aged 56, could hardly walk to the local shops without getting puffed out. Weighing 110.9 kilos in August of 2006, I had just been in hospital with kidney stones and my doctor advised me that if I didn’t lose weight immediately I would end up with diabetes or worse.
